Terms of service
The deal, in plain language.

Who can use Marquee
You must be 18 or older and able to enter a binding agreement. Marquee is a professional network for adults; accounts for or on behalf of minors are not permitted.
Marquee is the marketplace, not the party
When an organization books an expert, the engagement is between those two parties. Marquee provides the platform, generates the paperwork and handles the payment mechanics. We do not employ experts, we do not guarantee the outcome of an engagement, and we are not a party to it.
Fees
Joining Marquee is free. When an engagement is booked, the organization pays a service fee and the expert pays a commission, both shown in dollars on the engagement before either party signs. Nothing is charged if nothing is booked.
Where we offer paid subscriptions or digital purchases, the price, the renewal terms and the cancellation route are stated at the point of purchase. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access runs to the end of the period you already paid for.
Payments and escrow
Booking payments are authorised when an engagement is signed and released after it is delivered. Purchase orders and net-30 terms are supported where an organization requires them. Payment processing is handled by our payment provider under their terms.
Your content stays yours
You keep the copyright in everything you upload — talks, decks, video, resources. You grant Marquee a licence to host and play it inside the product so that people can find and book you. That licence does not extend to reselling it, sublicensing it to third parties, or training models on it, and it ends when you remove the content.
What you may not do
- Misrepresent your credentials, experience or identity.
- Upload anything you don’t have the rights to, or anything containing personal information about a child.
- Scrape, resell or redistribute member data, or use Marquee to build a competing list.
- Route a booking that started on Marquee off-platform to avoid fees.
Ranking and sponsorship
Paid placement never enters match results. Sponsored content is labelled as sponsored. If that ever changes, it changes here first and in public.
Ending it
You can close your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts other members at risk. Engagements already signed survive the account that made them, because someone is expecting a person to turn up.
The legal bit
Marquee is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States.
